Fans Are Losing It After Beto O’Rourke Shares Backstage Photo With Harry Styles

“Thank you Harry! O’Rourke captioned a photo he posted to Twitter on Tuesday in which he poses with his arm around Styles. O’Rourke wears a cap honoring the Uvalde families, Styles in a brightly colored polka dot ensemble. It’s safe to say that fans in Texas panicked over the photo, with the post racking up nearly 20,000 retweets and more than 183,000 likes on Wednesday morning.

“As a Beto Texan and Harry Styles fan, you don’t even understand what this means to me. Like? I’m spontaneous combustion,” a fan wrote on Twitter in response. Olivia Julianna, activist from Houston tweeted: “I NEED THIS AS A NOWWWWWW POSTER.” Cameron Kasky, a gun control activist and survivor of the Parkland shooting wrote, “My mom is going to freak out.” Another fan tweeted, “Lol, name a more iconic duo, I’ll wait.”

On Facebookwhere the photo garnered over 70,000 likes and over 3,000 shares, one fan commented, “Two amazing men. We need more like you two.”

On the fifth show of his six-night concert series at Austin’s Moody Center on Sunday, Styles endorsed O’Rourke in the running for governor of Texas, pointing out a sticker on his guitar that read “Beto for Texas.” Screens at the Moody Center showed O’Rourke was actually in the audience watching, waving and flashing a peace sign at Styles as the crowd cheered and screamed. Styles replied, “Just a lovely, charming man.”

Videos shared online showed O’Rourke handing out high fives and posing for photos with Styles fans in the pit. According to her Instagram, Governor Greg Abbott’s daughter, Audrey Abbott, was present at the Harry Styles concert in Austin the night the singer endorsed her father’s opponent.

On the final night of “Harry’s House” on Monday, Styles reportedly brought back the guitar campaign sticker one last time.
