Bike Shed London Show will display hundreds of Customs in May 2022
After a two-year absence that felt like an eternity, the Bike Shed London Show is officially back on the calendar for 2022! If you’re interested in going, note the dates for the last weekend of May, when the BSMC team take over London’s historic tobacco docks to put on a truly one-of-a-kind custom motorcycle show that should be fun for the whole family.
The show takes place on May 28 and 29, 2022 (Saturday and Sunday), with a special VIP preview/press evening which requires pre-registration on Friday May 27. While the event is, of course, all about custom bikes, there will also be plenty of art (besides we mean bikes), photography, live music, food, bars, coffee and more to whet many of your different appetites.
Since the annual BSMC show has unfortunately been canceled for the past two years, this gives builders plenty of time to come up with new creations. Then the members of Bike Shed have the extremely enviable or unenviable task (depending on your perspective) of going through all the submissions and deciding which bikes enter the show. With a two-year backup of submissions, their job certainly didn’t get any easier, but who would be upset about spending a whole lot of time staring at beautiful and sometimes crazy creations?
In fact, according to the folks at Bike Shed, this is the main criteria for the bikes they want in the show. As you no doubt know, every bike enthusiast is filled with personal passions and opinions. The main criteria when choosing bikes for the show seems to be, which bikes make you want to spend a whole lot of time with them? Which bikes inspire the individual Bike Shed members in charge of the jaw-dropping selection, simply riding around a bike and admiring every little detail? It’s not about brands, models, genres or who built the bike, it’s about what actively inspires admiration.
Either way, if you’re a custom bike builder, submissions are still open for the show! Be sure to check out the event page, which we’ll link to in our sources. This is also where you can buy pre-sale tickets. As of February 15, 2022, they cost £36.49 (about $49.30) for the Early Bird VIP Full Access Pass, which gets you into the Friday night VIP event (and gets you a free drink there), as well as full Saturday and access to the Sunday show. General admission for early birds costs £24.49 (about $33.10), which gets you in on Saturday and Sunday (and you’re allowed to leave and return multiple times).
Children under 16 enter for free, and there is also disabled access. Only guide dogs are allowed to participate in the event, and you can contact the BSMC for more information on any of the above or any other show-related questions.
