Backyard signs Vic Huber for US representation
Backyard Productions welcomes Vic Huber for US representation. Familiar with all aspects of automotive production, Vic has shot and produced work for a wide range of respected brands including Mercedes, Toyota and Ford.
After a long career in commercial photography where he worked on high profile advertising campaigns including Charles Schwab, BMW, American Airlines and Northrup, Vic made the smooth transition into film productions. After falling in love with the possibilities offered by the medium, Vic began to vigorously pursue commercial endeavors as a cinematographer and later as a director. He has since worked alongside talented directors such as Pete Chatmon, Billy & Brett and Mouse McCoy who have helped him perfect his craft.
Vic’s passion for visual storytelling is evident through his impressive portfolio of automotive work. Comfortable filming high performance cars on city roads or twisty race tracks, Vic approaches each project with the same passion and enthusiasm, delivering truly successful productions.
Having recently won an exciting project with Mercedes-Benz USA to introduce the new generation C-Class to the US market, Vic was commissioned to create a 6 minute video brochure showcasing the new vehicle, as well as a 6 minute video sequence . reel of this latest model. Additionally, Vic has captured a library of commercial-ready still photography assets for each of the three individual models in this project, incorporating his deep love for stills into his motion production.
Eager to push his creative limits, Vic has also made several short documentaries. Most recently, ‘Gus Alva | Paradigm+++Mas’, received acclaim at numerous film festivals and was chosen as the Official Selection for the 21st Annual Newport Beach Film Festival. Featuring the work of emerging Mexican American artist Gus Alva, the film illustrates how he draws artistic inspiration from the south-central Los Angeles neighborhood where he was born and raised.
Vic is currently in post-production on his first narrative short, “Implied Consent”, which he wrote and directed.
Director Vic Huber comments: “Having spent the past few years as a freelance director, I have come to truly understand the importance of being part of a strong team and a strong company. I’m really excited to be with the Backyard team. I feel like everyone here understands me as a creative person and I know we will be working on some exciting projects that will challenge me as a director. I can’t wait to see what we will produce together.
Rich Schafler, Head of Sales, adds, “Vic Huber is the perfect fit here at Backyard for many reasons, all of which are equally important to us. Deep down, Vic is one of the kindest, hardest working and most professional artists I have had the pleasure of working with. We pride ourselves on maintaining a roster of artists with real integrity and passion for their craft, and Vic is the personification of those traits. Additionally, Vic brings true versatility as a director, accomplished cinematographer, and outstanding photographer. I had the good fortune to work with him a few years ago when we worked on some amazing automotive projects and other high profile projects together.
Rich continues, “We value the relationships forged with our artists and are proud to have them join our production family. Over the past year, we’ve been fortunate to attract high caliber administrators to Backyard, and as we move forward, our goal is simply to work with like-minded professionals. Vic hits the mark – his portfolio of work and expertise in the automotive and visual storytelling genres specifically address important categories of our offerings and are complementary to our roster and our clients.
