Alsace LA opens in the City of Angels
Showcasing the work of NMDA Architects and Home Studios, the new 48-key Alsace LA boutique hotel features an elegant design that embodies artistic and free-spirited energy.
Created with the residents of LA’s West Adams neighborhood firmly in mind, this property strives to support, serve and partner with locals and business owners.
A hotel built around the tale
Alsace LA is designed to showcase the power of storytelling, pairing white oak floors and Bauhaus-inspired curves with site-specific artwork, while contemporary photography and playful details help bring cultural relevance to the interiors. One of the hotel’s highlights is its lush interior courtyard and secluded inground pool, complemented by desert landscaping.
Influences of Mediterranean design
Guests are first greeted in the intimate lobby, designed to mimic a Mediterranean-style portico. Overall, the hotel is residential, with light filtering through each of the three floors from the central courtyard.
Rooms feature handcrafted details and plenty of amenities, and the larger suites also include a balcony or terrace, as well as a dining table and sofa bed. The legendary local music store High-Fidelity Records runs in-room playlists alongside ambient sounds from the lobby.
During their stay, guests are treated to free coffee and pastries, and can also order bespoke in-room boxes of local wine, beer, spirits, and snacks. An indoor-outdoor restaurant is slated to debut this winter.
Additional property amenities include a 24-hour fitness center, use of free bikes, and the option to participate in monthly historic district bike tours with local estate agent Jose Prats, founder of West Adams Bike Tour and Adopt A Bike.
Meanwhile, meetings can be held in a 409 square foot space that features a 12-seat boardroom-style table, flat-screen HDTV, and conference room audio-visual equipment. The hotel is also partnering with the YOUBE co-working space, offering guests credit and access during their stay.
